'Everyone told me that this would be a life-changing experience, and I didn't begin to feel it until the end of the week, but it hit me hard. Between the service work and the people I bonded with in the Western community, this was quite possibly the most valuable experience of my university career.'

Outreach360
Youth/Education

The Goal of Outreach360 is to transform individuals, families, communities, countries, and the world through the education and development of disadvantaged children. As we release the hero within these children, we release the hero within each person involved with Outreach360.

The vision of Outreach360 is a transformed world in which every child is able to pursue a college degree or to be gainfully employed upon reaching adulthood, enabling them to live a life of choice. Each child will become an active citizen, committed to serving those less fortunate, and be an active friend of the environment.

The Community

Outreach360's efforts in Nicaragua are focused in the town of Jinotega. Jinotega is also called the "City of Mists" for the fog and cloud formations usually present in the city. Jinotega is a kilometer above sea level, has a very moderate climate, and is in the center of the Nicaragua coffee growing region.

Outreach360 is currently providing English classes (and English camps during school breaks - summer break is between December and February) and Community Health classes in the local primary schools in Jinotega as well as providing Spanish Literacy and English classes in our Neighborhood Center, a rental house located in the German Pomares neighborhood.

The intention is to develop community & neighborhood center facilities and programs to support the development of children and families. Briefly, the model consists of:

  • Pre-school: Nutrition program and pre-school development activities
  • Grades 1-8: Spanish literacy education and English education
  • Grades 9-12: Vocational Skills, College Prep, Life Skills
  • College: College Scholarships
